A Sentimental Journey Celebrating Our Nation's Veterans At Myrtle's in Downtown Sioux Falls

Step back in time for an unforgettable evening of nostalgia, elegance, and heartfelt tribute. On Friday, November 14th, join us at The Speakeasy at Myrtle’s Fur Vault & Bar in downtown Sioux Falls for Sentimental Journey: A Salute to Our Nation’s Veterans — an intimate musical celebration honoring those who served, set to the timeless sounds of the swing and jazz eras.

An Evening of Classic American Song

Under the namesakes of Lt. Colonel Parker Newcomb (U.S. Army) and Myrtle Newcomb — a mother of five and a lover of fine things (especially furs) — we invite you to a Champagne Toast from 5–7 p.m. at Myrtle’s Bar. Sip sparkling bubbles or indulge in a classic cocktail straight out of the 1940s playbook — a Sidecar, Gin Rickey, Manhattan, Mai Tai, Old Fashioned, Tom Collins, Gimlet, Martini — to name a few. Show up in uniform or fur and your first glass of champagne is on us.

Then, descend into Myrtle’s Speakeasy for Sentimental Journey, a performance that takes us back to an America united by sacrifice and song. Whitney Werner (vocals) and Dan Graber (piano) bring to life the melodies that lifted a nation’s spirit: Stormy Weather, All of Me, Unforgettable, One for My Baby, Smile, Over the Rainbow, I Got It Bad (and That Ain’t Good) — and many more.
